Standard Image Sizes

Is there really such a thing as a “normal” or “standard” image size? The optimum size of an image will affect the way it looks and will very much depend on its intended use, for example, will the image be printed, used in a photo-book or calendar, used solely on a website etc? Even just thinking about printing presents many different options. Many print labs do a wide variety of sizes including options to customise an image to whatever size you want, others publish a more restricted list of their most popular sizes, if you are printing at home you may be using the ISO Standards e.g. A3, A4 etc. Some of the images displayed on this site have been cropped tightly from the original and may not fit what you need. If you have a specific requirement, please let me know at the time of ordering and I will work with you to meet your needs. Going forwards, images will be sized to scale up and down to the sizes below without any cropping.
